Driver's License Point System
The DMV maintains a record of the points accumulated by every individual who operates a motorized vehicle. The purpose is to identify negligent drivers by the accumulation of points. Once identified, they are warned of their status so that they can modify their attitudes and behavior and thereby retain the driving privilege.

Out-of-State citations for Idaho drivers: Idaho Transportation Department may suspend or revoke your driver’s license for a conviction or action in another state for an offense that, if committed in Idaho, would be grounds for suspension.
Out-of-state drivers: The Idaho court where you got a ticket will report the offense to your home state. Depending on the state and if it is a member of the Non-Resident Violator Compact (NRVC), you may be eligible to take traffic school to clear that ticket. Contact your home state’s DMV for further details.
